“You will never consistently outperform the image you hold of yourself”
We are all told to set goals, but when you write them down and have a date as to when you will achieve them, do you actually see yourself as the person who will achieve them? For most people, you don’t achieve more or reach greater levels of success, simply because you do not see yourself as the person who can do it.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a strong advocate for hustle and an unrelenting work ethic, but if you begin the process with an unconscious belief that you are not good enough or you don’t deserve it, you have beaten yourself before you even start.
Your mind works in imagery and neuro sciences has show that there is a direct neurological connection between the image you create and how you feel. You need to create an image of yourself that is powerful and emotionally compelling!
Even if you don’t believe it at first, practice by closing your eyes, seeing yourself with all the powerful attributes you have ever hoped for and get excited about what you see (it MUST be emotionally compelling). Do it often!! You will be surprised by the what you will experience in your nervous system.
“You become what you think about most”
